Design
Now it is time to start designing.
Your poster must include the following information:
- Band or musician's name
- Date and time (you can also make up a location)
- At least one photo or illustration
You are not using images that are literal (like putting a picture of the musician!) You should think of things that are figurative (symbolic or metaphorical). You should think about the music... What colors do you think of? What feelings or emotions? What kinds of images come to mind? Choose fonts that reflect the style of music.
Make a thumbnail sketch of your design first, then start on the computer.
Create a new file in Adobe Photoshop.
Make it 9 inches wide by 12 inches high, 150 pixels per inch.
Create your own drawing and scan it in, or find photographs to use. You can only use copyright free images in your artwork (from the links on the right).
When you are done, save your designs to your folder, and to the "HAND IN FINAL WORK" folder. Name it YourLastNamePoster.tif
Have fun!
