Guidelines:
1. We will re-design your bumper stickers using Adobe Illustrator.
2. Chose a quote for your inspirational bumper sticker. These will be hung in school. You can:
• find a SHORT quote (Wikiquote),
• or choose from the list I have provided.
*Remember you must include the person who said it in your design!
3. Open Adobe Illustrator (icon=Ai)
4. Go to File > New
- Name your file LastNameBumperSticker
- Change the “units” to inches
- Make your file 8 inches wide and 3.5 inches high
5. Save your file to your own personal folder in “Julie Vermeer Classroom” folder right away!
5. Use the “text” tool, shapes, swatches and patterns to create a Black and White design of your quote.
Think about: how you incorporate the graphic design basics of balance, proximity, alignment, repetition, contrast, and white space.
6. Once you are happy with your design, show it to Ms. Vermeer for approval.
7. Remember, the only way your design will be approved is if:
- you have correct spelling
- you have included the person’s name who said the quote
- you have used only black and white
- you have tried different fonts and included pattern and design elements
8. We will photocopy your designs, then hang a display in school. You can also leave them in lockers, stick them in library books, put them on a car windshield, or give them to someone who needs some inspiration!
