Write the definitions to these words on your worksheet:

Planning
1. What city have your chosen? What country is it in?
2. Go to google image search and find a map (of the country, showing the city)
3. What is the weather like in the fall? spring? winter? summer?
4. Write a few sentences about the city's history. When was it founded? By who? Etc.
5. What language is spoken? What kinds of foods are eaten? What kind of clothes are worn? What kind of music or dancing? What sports?
6. Write down 3 major attractions (museums, landmarks, monuments, etc.)
7. How much does it cost to get there? How much is the average flight cost? How much is the average hotel?
Now save some pictures to your folder to use in your presentation.
Design
Ms. Fowler will give a short demonstration on using PowerPoint. It is important that you pay close attention, but also that you learn on your own! Sign up on the white board for help.
Make sure your design is consistent. You can try using slide design templates. Think carefully about the colors and the fonts you choose. Do they match the style of the place?
Present and Evaluate
You will present your presentation to the class at the end of the project. Remember, PowerPoint presentations are meant to enhance what you are saying. The slides are there as a background for what you say. Work with your partner to prepare your presentation.
How NOT to use PowerPoint
You will fill out a self-evaluation. You will also complete a written evaluation of two to three other presentations.
