Twins Announce 2009 Holiday Card Design Contest

Students from Upper Midwest invited to submit artwork to be featured on an official Twins’ holiday greeting card

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Twins announced today they are accepting submissions for the Twins annual Holiday Card Design Contest. Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to submit artwork, with the winning entrant having his or her design featured on a Twins’ official holiday greeting card.

In addition, the lucky winner will receive a prize package that includes four tickets to a 2010 Twins game, recognition on the Target Field Scoreboard, an official Twins prize bag and an autographed bat. Prizes will also be allotted to the second and third place winners, including an official Twins prize bag and an autographed baseball.

The theme of the student’s artwork should incorporate a holiday/winter theme. The use of baseball images (bats, balls, hats, Target Field, favorite players and the Twins name or logo) are all encouraged.

Students from across the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota) are eligible to participate in the contest. The deadline for entries is Friday, November 13, with the winner to be announced Tuesday, November 17.
